If rap star Kanye West wants to put a wedding ring on Kim Kardashian's finger, he can now do so without the fear of legal onslaught coming down on them.
According to reports, Kim K is now officially divorced from NBA star Kris Humphries after a messy court battle came to a delayed end last April.
Kim Kardashian is officially divorced from NBA player Kris Humphries — just in time for the reality-TV star to give birth to her first child, a girl, with beau Kanye West. The judgment was entered in a Los Angeles court Monday, officially ending the 72-day 2011 marriage. The Brooklyn Net forward initially sought an annulment, claiming that the couple’s marriage, including a televised wedding, was based on fraud. (NY Post)
A couple months ago, Kim reflected on her short-lived romance with Kris finally concluding.
“I’m just glad for Kris and I both that we can just move on. I think we ultimately both wanted the same thing so I’m glad that we were able to just come up with an agreeament and just move on for the both of us,” Kim said in an interview. “[Marrying Kanye?] Don’t you think I should slow down? I think I should slow down. I’m just really enjoying my time with Kanye right now and we wanna have the baby and when you know how it’s gonna be in the end there’s no need to really rush it right now.” (EXTRA)
She also briefly talked about how much Yeezy defends her amid rumors which suggest otherwise.
“He also gets so defensive,” Kim added. “He’ll call and say ‘Who’s saying mean things?’ And I’m just like ‘Don’t worry about it. I’m so used to it.'” (EXTRA)
Around mid-April, Kris’ representative stepped forward to explain his no-show at the divorce settlement hearings.
Kris Humphries — who was once obsessed with proving to the world that Kim Kardashian was a love fraud — now says he gave up his battle because of his love of BBall. A rep for Kris tells TMZ, “Kris and his family are excited to move forward and are grateful for all the support they have received in this process.” The rep then sets the priorities straight: “His commitment to the Brooklyn Nets and the team’s incredible fans is his number one priority and he is excited to head into the playoffs tomorrow with this situation behind him.” TMZ broke the story … Kris settled his divorce beef with Kim and walked away with nothing — he didn’t get the annulment he sought and didn’t get a penny.
