Reality star Kim Kardashian publicly let the cat out of the bag last night (May 18) by announcing not only the name but the release date of her boyfriend Kanye West‘s upcoming new album.
According to Kim K, Mr. West’s new Yeezus will hit stores in less than a month.
Apparently, his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, is also part of his marketing team. She posted a photo on Instagram Saturday night showing the album artwork for Yeezus alongside a pair of the rapper’s Air Yeezy sneakers, which he designed for Nike. “#Yeezus #RedYeezy’s #SNL #Tonight #NewSlaves #YeezySeason #Donda #June18,” she captioned the image. Additional confirmations from various music blogs have also sprouted online.
Yeezus is coming. After much anticipation, Kanye West will release his sixth solo album next month. Rap-Up.com can confirm that the follow-up to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be titled Yeezus and arrive on June 18. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper premiered a new song entitled “New Slaves” last night via projections on buildings in 10 cities across the world. The song, about modern day slavery, features vocals from Frank Ocean. While a tracklisting has yet to emerge, reports claim West Coast rap group Odd Future may appear on the LP.
Odd Future and Skrillex are both rumored to feature on the forthcoming new Kanye West album with members of Odd Future and producer Skrillex having recently joined West in the studio alongside MC Chief Keef and John Legend. It was also previously revealed that Daft Punk have also worked on tracks on the new album. (NME)
Earlier this month, speculation went haywire when Ye tweeted out a mysterious “June 18″ date to his Twitter page.
After famously removing all his tweets, Kanye West has returned to the social media platform with a single post: “June Eighteen.” The rapper deleted his entire Twitter presence back in October 2012, so his new tweet could mean something big. There’s already rampant speculation about what the cryptic message might mean. Could it be the release of his new music? A tour? Or baby mama Kim Kardashian’s due date? (New York Post)
