According to Cudder, the follow-up to 2010’s Man on the Moon 2 won’t drop until 2015.

Dropping his fourth studio album earlier this year with ‘Indicud,’ KiD CuDi got straight to work on his next project ‘Man On The Moon 3.’ Tonight Cudder announced that third installment to his Man On The Moon series will be released sometime in 2015. “motm 3 2015” (The Masked Gorilla)

Earlier this year, Cudi talked about his break-up with G.O.O.D Music and said he made sure to let ex-boss Kanye West know he wanted to maintain a strong relationship.

“I overthink sh– all the time. I’m just emotional,” he added, laughing. Cudi broke the news to fans early in April, saying that he’d even reached out to Jay-Z for advice on how to broach the subject with Kanye, but once it was done with, there were no hard feelings and he and ‘Ye still have plans to work together. “In the last email he sent me, he was just like, ‘Yo, come out to Paris and work,’ but I gotta go shoot ‘Need for Speed’ first,” he continued. “I’ma handle that and hopefully he’s still working because I got some time in between so I might jet out and go check him, play him some beats that I been working on. Now that I know he might need my help I might go in the studio and actually try to make some beats with him in mind and see what comes outta that.” (MTV)

In April, Kid detailed the motivation behind wanting to seek a new music direction.

“I’m announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D Music,” Cudi revealed in an interview. “This is something that no one knows, really, but I’m no longer on G.O.O.D Music. … I could never get tired of Kanye but we were talking on the phone the other day, these are things I’ve been wanting to talk to him about, starting my own direction and he got it because he’s trying to start his new path, trying new things as an artist and he was just like, ‘Man, I feel you.’ … There’s no beef, there’s no problems with anyone on the label. It’s all love.” (Power 106)

He also revealed receiving some advice from Ye’s manager Don C and rap mogul Jay-Z prior to approaching the G.O.O.D Music head.

“For at least, like, six months,” Cudi added when asked how long has he been keeping the news to himself. “I’m very forward-thinking. I’m like, ‘Next year, I’m going to be doing ‘this.” I kinda like, knew where I wanted to go and then was trying to figure out what the right decision would be, how to talk to [Kanye] about it. I went through a process where I talked to Don C, then I went to talk to Jay-Z, and then got their opinions about how to approach him about things I wanted to talk to him about and everybody gave me the blessing.” (Power 106)
