G.O.O.D. Music's Kid Cudi finally announced the name of his new record label this week to a crowd of New York City concertgoers along with the title of his band.

While at Manhattan’s Roseland Ballroom, Cudder also provided an update on his upcoming new album.

Just last night in New York City, Cudi announced the name of his new imprint, Wicked Awesome Records. Along with the new label, he broke the news that he had formed a new band called, 2 Be Continuum, formerly known asWizard. “I needed something more original, something different, but it’s still wizardry at its finest.” Cudi also gave insight on his upcoming album where he told the jam-packed Roseland Ballroom crowd, “I’ve only been playing guitar for 9 months but the records are epic, epic, I’m really excited. We gunna have that first single for you soon.” Wizard is slated for release later this year. (Complex)

In February, Cudi announced parting ways with his Dream On record label after a two-year run.

I have a diff vision, for music, for the world. im just doing the right thing, i come from a different place. people lose sight of the mission,” Cudi tweeted February 28th. “cant expect everyone to be built like me. when people have different visions, you gotta go your own way. Cudi also said fans should be excited about what is to come.

“As far as my movement, i have to lead it. cant expect people to have the same morals as me … i am still with GOOD music, with that being said im just changin my side of things up a bit. so it will be ?/GOOD. Still distributed through Motown. the jams will be the same, but more real and true to me. the new label will be formed with @DotDaGenius. i have a new name [for the label], i just wanna lock it in contractually first. this is a day to rejoice, this isnt bad news. things are gonna be so epic, im like a kid on xmas eve im so excited bout this new chapter.” (Kid Cudi’s Twitter)

In April 2009, Cudi officially launched his Dream On record label through Motown.

Universal/Motown President Sylvia Rhone revealed that Kid Cudi’s upcoming debut album Man on the Moon: The Guardian will be released through his label Dream On, in conjunction with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Universal Motown will also distribute Dream On, a new joint venture between Kid Cudi, his partners Emile and Plain Pat and West’s G.O.O.D. Music (Now Public)

Cudi’s last album, Man on the Moon II, debuted on the sales chart at No. 3 in November with 169,800 sold copies.
