G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi was attacked during an Ohio performance yesterday and footage from the incident has since leaked online.
Although the incident happened fairly quickly, security measures were enforced.
During a concert in Ohio on Thursday (July 23), a crazed fan jumped on stage during Cudi’s performance of ‘Pursuit of Happiness,’ temporarily disrupting the show. Security guards were quick to remove the intruder from the stage, but the Cleveland-born rapper wasted no time fighting his way off the stage to confront the fan. Thankfully, this time security guards were able to restrain the G.O.O.D. Music rapper before things got too ugly and eventually he returned to the stage to finish his performance. (The Boom Box)
After being interrupted by a fan during his Vancouver, Canada performance last year, Cudi made headlines for retaliating against the wrong person.
The Internet is buzzing with a widely distributed video of what happened next. Cudi leaves the stage, climbs up on the crowd barrier and throws a punch. Rumors abound that the person he tagged wasn’t the original offending party. A first-person report from the alleged victim is also being widely distributed online. In the story, the victim claims that wallet was thrown on stage by him after it had been returned to him in error and Cudi had said he would take it back if it wasn’t his. Whatever the case, the video makes clear that someone was the target of the non-gangsta rapper’s rabbit punch. (Kelowna News)
Following his incident with victim Michael Sharpe, Cudi has taken the fan on tour runs with him.
Kid Cudi made amends with the fan he punched during a concert last year (09) by bringing him onstage at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington at the weekend (30 May 10). Welcoming a thrilled Michael Sharpe to the stage, he told the crowd, “Remember that kid I punched in Vancouver? This is him. I brought him out here to hang out. It’s all OK, he forgives me.” (Contact Music)
Aside from performances, Cudi is prepping the release of his sophomore album Man on the Moon 2.
The “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper’s sophomore effort Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager has a revised release date of September 28, Rap-Up.com has learned. That’s two weeks later than its original September 14 date. Hip-hop heavyweights Young Jeezy and T.I. are also set to drop albums that day. (Rap-Up)
