Music industry celebrity Scott Verner dished on the new track on social media this week.

Check out what K. Dot said about his upcoming solo album right here…

Last month, Kendrick revealed he would like his next album to arrive before 2014 ends.

“I’m hoping to push it out before 2015,” Lamar said in an interview. “I’m gonna say that. I’m working hard in the studio. … When I go into creating an album or any type of song, I usually cut off everything from the radio because you can easily be influenced from songs that you like, songs that you may not like. So I said, ‘I’m gonna go in the studio and I’m going to do what I feel organically without being confined to industry standards or what people assume that I should do.’ Because, at the end of the day, man, I’m an artist and I would hate to be stagnant.” (97.1 AMP Radio)

A few weeks ago, Lamar said he received permission from music pioneer Ronald Isley for a sample on his new “i” record.

“I think music is universal. It’s an expression. No matter how it comes across, as long as it always remains you, that’s how they’re gonna respect it and they’re gonna have a connection with it. I got a chance to meet [Ronald Isley] and even got him on the ad libs for the record,. You can hear him. … I record a bunch of ideas and I really just sit and live with them until I feel like they got a potential of being a ten. Those be the keepers.” (“Big Boy’s Neighborhood”)

  1. This sounds good. Unapologetically Black sounds like it’s a conscious record and hopefully that’s the case because we can use a lot of that in the game right now to provide more balance.

    • The real question though is will the Jews play it? Kendrick’s new song “I love myself” heard it for all of 2 weeks. they aint trying to put positive music on the air waves. Hopefully Kendrick continues to bang on that door and Underground “Conscious ” rap wont have to be underground any more.

      • indeed, it’s totally conscious with subliminal verses to make you think harder about what he is putting out. But the “jews”? they may let it ride just to make something out of it and force the issue to remove it from Sirius and clear channel radio, because it speaks positivity of our race. AND THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Never knew “conscious” hip hop is underground. I’m sorry I think the kid is talented but seriously people will jump on the bandwagon of whoever is hot right now. Kendrick is nice but people treating this kid like he’s the second coming. Why? Cause he actually spits bars???? Doing what he is suppose to do as an MC? I think this goes to show that hip hop is horrible state right now and people there are real dope MC’s out there. Lets not let these social media sites dictate who is hot and how is not.
Again I think Kendrick is nice but thats it.
    Just my opinion.
Now I sit back and wait for the hate to come in waves.

      • Yea i do but when your working and have multiple windows open at the time it seemed easier just to write a correction. Don’t ask why, lol, it just did.

  3. please don’t let this be some silly sh!t cause “unapologetically black” makes me think “nature of the threat” by ras kass or some x-clan sh!t… don’t disappoint by watering down what we been needing…
