Top Dawg Entertainment‘s Kendrick Lamar has 14 reasons to smile right now. The hip-hop heavyweight’s new DAMN. album’s entire tracklisting has landed on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to reports, every song off K. Dot’s chart-topping release has landed on the prestigious chart.
The rapper is just the fifth artist to land that many songs on the chart simultaneously. In all, the 14 songs from DAMN. on the latest Hot 100 (which blends streaming, airplay and sales data) garnered 388.5 million U.S. streams in the tracking week ending April 20, according to Nielsen Music. Last weekend, rap star 2 Chainz and Kendrick’s mom both co-signed DAMN.
After just a week of availability, Lamar’s album has crushed its competition.
Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 2017’s biggest week for an album: 603,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 20, according to Nielsen Music. That’s the most units earned by an album in a single week in nearly a year, since Drake’s Views launched with 1.04 million units in the week ending May 5, 2016. The previous record holder for 2017’s biggest week was the debut of Drake’s More Life, with 505,000 units in the week ending March 23. (Billboard)
