Music producer Syk Sense is raising the stakes and expectations for Kendrick Lamar fans. The hitmaker has dished out some details on K. Dot’s upcoming To Pimp A Butterfly follow-up album.
In a new interview, SS revealed the mysterious project’s production is going to live up to the hype.
“Only thing I do know is that – I got homies that produced on there, that produced some crazy sh*t. … Like it’s some of the hardest sh*t that I’ve heard. And the fact that it’s connected to Kendrick as well just makes it that much better. And I haven’t heard the songs, but I’ve heard the beats. F*ck, we’ve got some pretty heavy new guys that’s really going to make a name for themselves off these beats.”
However, shortly after his words went viral Syk fell back on hyping up the production.
XXL reached out to Syk Sense, who said the beats he heard weren’t confirmed to be on the album. He’s working on getting the interview he did taken down. (XXL Mag)
A few weeks ago, Kendrick dished out details on what approach he’d take on his next album.
‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore,” he said. “We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.” I wondered if the new record would engage directly with that conflict. “It’s very urgent,” Lamar replied. In late February, Kendrick hit the studio with labelmate ScHoolboy Q.
