While Kendrick confirmed the remix is legit, he could dish out the juicy details of how it all came together.

“Ah, man, I can’t really speak too much on it, I just know it’s in the air right now,” Kendrick told MTV News, laughing. “I can’t — it’s under wraps,” he said when asked about the remix’s origins. It’s all love. That’s the big homey. It’s one of them things, you know, you live up to and one of them moments to really challenge yourself and say ‘OK, that’s how I come in. Always looked up to the greats to be a great.’ So to actually be on a track with him, it’s an accomplishment.” (MTV)

The new record premiered earlier this week courtesy of Jay’s righthand man Young Guru.

During Jay-Z’s engineer Young Guru’s DJ set tonight at SXSW 2013, he played a remix of Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city joint “B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe,” featuring none other than Hov himself. No word on when this will be officially released, but peep the footage above to listen. Sounds super fresh. (Complex)

On the record, Jigga adds his own fresh lyrics after Kendrick’s witty new wordplay.

“Up in the clouds, me and my spouse,” Jigga raps. “Rumors on the ground getting too loud, can you turn them sh*ts down/Can’t hear myself think/Turnin’ this sh*t on, might spill my drink/And don’t ask for the mink/Runnin’ through that b*tch like it’s my house/All up in the hall at the mall/Told you motherf*ckers all I do is ball/No I don’t remember you, I don’t intend to/Empty my memory bank/It’s a million dollars in it/Baby, Hillary Swank/Next to Hillary….” (Vimeo)

Lamar and Jay will reunite for an upcoming Yahoo Music tour slated to take place this May.

The 21-date tour called “Yahoo! on the Road” will feature Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, BET reports, as well as J. Cole, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and special guests Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean and Trey Songz. Yahoo said attendees can expect “a daily mobile entertainment and innovation festival this spring/summer featuring the world’s hottest bands, comedians, and surprise guests.” The tour will feature 14 stateside shows, starting May 3 in New York City and ending May 31 in San Francisco, and seven dates in Europe from Berlin to London through the summer. The London finale coincides with the annual “Yahoo! Wireless Festival,” for which Jay-Z and Timberlake will co-headline. (Billboard)
