Lamar said he would much rather continue gaining new experiences and embracing his current buzz before returning to album-making mode.

“No I’m not,” Lamar said in an interview with rap personality Miss Info. “I haven’t locked in to album mode. I write everyday, though. I have ideas all the time. But me going to the studio, locking in and making the next album? Nah. I don’t feel like, I don’t want to force things. I still want to live in this moment. My biggest mistake, right now today, is just not living in the moment and understanding everything that’s going on. Like I told one of those fans out there, you’re family. I still can’t understand that I’m on this stage right now. You feel me? So I’m just trying to stay in the moment.” (Hot 97)

The 25 year-old rapper also said he could not pinpoint when good kid, m.A.A.d city‘s follow-up would go into production.

“I think right now, how I’m feeling right now, it’d be more of a moment of inspiration,” Lamar added when asked when he will prepare a follow-up LP. “Being inspired to go back in and be confident in what I want to say next. So, I don’t think it’ll be an actual date, when I say, ‘Okay, let me stop [touring and go back to work].’ I’m sure to be inspired, just off that. Just off talking to you and this moment right here is all inspiration. So, it’s all collectively gathering up in my memory bank right now.” (Hot 97)

Recently, Kendrick reacted to rap veteran Nas co-signing his latest solo offering.

“That’s crazy, I didn’t hear that,” he said. “That’s amazing, just off the fact that it’s Nas. You can hear the influence [of him] on my storytelling. For somebody who’s been a lead player in this game for so many years, a veteran as far as longevity and skill, that’s an accomplishment just on words alone.” (FUSE)

Last week, the album’s “Poetic Justice” music video premiered online.

The video opens up with a disclaimer: “All characters in this visual are entirely fictional. The events that occur are purely symbolic and should not be taken literal.” Innocent to devastating events continue to occur as the rapper raps of his love. The romance between Kendrick and his on-screen beau comes to a halt when both get caught up in a shooting on the streets of his hometown of Compton. (Billboard)
