Although brief with details, the Lone Star State hitmaker said he already has one K. Dot track in the books.

“I’ve completed one cut with Kendrick,” Cardo said. “It landing on the album is something that we are hopeful for right now.” Cardo also revealed an impressive lineup of other artists that he has been working with for upcoming projects, including Meek Mill and Ty Dolla $ign. “There’s a whole lot of projects coming up though, man,” he said. “Of course the Jeezy album, the Ty Dolla $ign album, the Meek Mill album. Definitely Kendrick Lamar’s album.” (XXL Mag)

Instead of bottling his concerns, K. Dot recently said he was excited about piecing together his next LP.

“It’s not really pressure,” Kendrick said in an interview. “I just keep the same instinct, doing what I feel, that makes me feel good at the moment. It’s really more excitement to get back in the studio and really do what I do. Nah, I don’t really feel pressure. … I’ll probably know exactly what [the title] is when I’m done with the music.” (93.7 The Beat)

Back in March, TDE head Anthony Tiffith promised projects from his camp, including K. Dot’s LP, were in the pipeline.

“@justsza Z 4.8.14, @abdashsoul ,@jayrock and @kendricklamar coming soon be patient…#TDE #0XYMORON #CilviaDemo OUT NOW!,” Top Dawg tweeted March 20. (Top Dawg’s Twitter)

A month prior, Tiffith said the long-awaited LP would arrive in September.

In 2014, TDE hopes to lock and load its most ambitious slate of releases: Rashad and the label’s first nonrap signing, New Jersey-based female singer-songwriter SZA, will be coming with albums, as will original team members Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. Tiffith indicates that TDE is planning to release a new Lamar album this coming September, too. (Billboard)
