Despite sharing a child with Nas, Kelis said she does not look back at how things turned out.

“I’m not a big regret person. I’ve been divorced, and I can still say I don’t regret it,” she said in an interview. “I’m a big believer that if a bad situation happens, it is a lesson that needs to be learned, just once. My mom told us that when we hit our thirties we’d feel our most beautiful and sexy and smart, and I really do feel like that.” (Showbiz Spy)

In summer 2009, Nas was ordered to pay Kelis over $40,000 a month in support.

A day after welcoming a baby boy, the “Milkshake” singer, 29, was awarded nearly $44,000 in monthly support from her ex Nas at a hearing Thursday. He initially asked a court to deny Kelis any spousal support and then proposed paying Kelis a one-time payment of $20,000 until the judge could settle on an appropriate spousal and child support amount at a later hearing. But on Thursday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger rejected the offer, stating that new mom Kelis needed more money per month to accommodate her new lifestyle. (Us Magazine)

Last July, Nas spoke on his separation from Kelis.

“Nope, nope, nope,” Nas told Tim Westwood when asked if he wanted to comment on his personal life. “I never, you know, I never was that kind of dude, you know what I mean? It took me by surprise that today’s game, though, no matter who you are, you can wind up out there. Your business be out there. That’s just the way it is. I don’t know what to do about that. You can’t control it, it is what it is. I wish everybody the best, I wish the best for everybody. I ain’t tripping, life is life. I love life. You live and learn. You just keep growing. Yeah. It’s tough bruh, but yo, I dive in. I goes in. I still think marriage is a beautiful thing, it’s a beautiful thing, you just gotta be strong to weather the ups and downs. I think it’s a good thing to marry — I had great hopes. I thought we were going to go through it big, but two people are not, we gotta become one mind in a way. Two people think about life different, they see things different and then you just grow in different directions but I had a great time. Shout-out to my son Knight, he’ll be one tomorrow.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)

Earlier this year, Nas won a legal victory allowing his child support payments to become reduced.

Nas just had his child and spousal support obligations sliced in half, but he still has to pay ex-wife Kelis a pretty penny … TMZ has learned. According to legal docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas must now pay a tad over $5,000 a month in childsupport and $20,000 a month in spousal support. It sounds like a lot, but Nas was paying twice that until he convinced the judge the bad economy has even hit the rap biz hard. So this month, Nas pockets an extra $25k for himself. (TMZ)
