Def Squad’s Keith Murray has social media buzzing this week after making a big “announcement” he called larger than bi-sexual singer Frank Ocean and transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner.
Murray announced being “gay” but quickly flipped it to meaning “happy” during a Hot 97 radio interview this week.
Keith Murray tried to pull a fast one on the HOT97 morning show today with a “big announcement,” that actually turned out to be one big troll. The Def Squad rapper first acted like he really had something big to get off his chest — bigger than Frank Ocean and Caitlyn Jenner’s whopper. However, after blurting out “I’m gay,” Keith than acted like he was just using the moment to plug his upcoming album and mixtape. No, man, no. (Miss Info TV)
Recently, Def Squad’s Redman spoke to SOHH about reuniting with Murray and group member Erick Sermon.
“We were separated for a while. We had to do our own thing because of miscommunication. I wouldn’t say egos because we don’t give a f*ck about egos. I look at myself no better than the next man, especially if they’re a part of my team. If we’re all not eating, then we all don’t look good. That’s the bottom line. It was just a thing of each person going out and doing their thing and we actually met back together during the BET Cypher.” (SOHH)
Red also explained the importance of staying connected to his Squad members.
“We’ve been talking to each other because we live in the same Tri-state area, New Jersey and New York are just one state apart. We talk to each other here and there but that god d*mn cipher brought us back. They actually asked Def Squad to do a BET Cypher and I was like, “That’s interesting but weird.” They called us back in and when we all were in the same room again, together, we were like, “D*mn man, we missed this sh*t!” This technology just makes you so distant from the things that are real.
