[With Scary Movie V hitting theaters today (April 12), fans are ready to see what the franchise holds without the Wayans brothers attached. And while some may question the humor they might see, Scary Movie V star Katt Williams assures SOHH readers there's never a dull moment on the screen.]
[People need] to go see Scary Movie V because all of the Scary Movies have been funny; there’s no reason not to see this streak extended now that the Miami Heat are not on theirs.
Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson and Bow Wow are in the same movie! And, Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan are in the same scene. Terry Crews is in the movie, and we’re supposed to go see any movie Terry Crews is in. And the number one reason [people should go see this movie is because] Katt Williams is playing a magician. What does a magician do? I’m the Black version of Burt Wonderstone.
My favorites scenes in the movie are not the ones that I’m in–that’s what makes the movie so great. There are so many excellent people in the movie that it’s almost like stand up. Stand up is just a set up and a joke and a set up and a joke and a set up and a joke, and when it’s perfect it all works. And I didn’t understand how many people were involved until the end so it was a lot of fun.
This is a franchise that’s $800,000,000 in, so you’re always going, “Who can they get to top that?” For me, the fact that they had Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan together in the same movie was good enough for me, let alone doing scenes together. That’s actually giving the people what they wanna see.
[This one] is not allowed to be as good. The first [Scary Movie] was good, and it keeps progressively getting better and everybody says that you should keep things rolling until the wheels fall off. People are expecting for the wheels to eventually fall off, so I was just proud to be able to be a spoke on the wheel and make sure that this is not falling off. When I got there, I realized it was never even in danger of falling off and I was able to just a part of it.
