Troubled comedian Katt Williams has stepped up to explain why he unleashed his hand of fury on a seemingly innocent Target employee in California last month and said he is really the victim.
According to Katt, the employee used derogatory language directed at him.
“Let me tell you what the dude at Target said. This is what the dude at Target said. ‘Your assistant is already suing you, ol’ p**sy a** n****r,'” Katt told a group of people at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. “I said, ‘Did you just say the N-word in front of Katt Williams?.’ He said, ‘You say it all the time.’ I said, ‘Say it again and see what happens.’ End of story. If you white and you call me a n****r, I’m gonna punch you in your motherf*cking face too. That’s the same sh*t that drove Dave Chappelle out the f*cking business.” (YouTube)
The Target employee’s assistant comment refers back to early November when Katt got hit with a lawsuit by a female worker.
On Nov. 9, Williams was sued by his former female assistant, who alleges the comedian assaulted her at his house in October. On Nov. 14, Williams was reportedly arrested following a fight at an Oakland club. The on Nov. 27, Williams was arrested in Sacramento after leading police on a chase while driving his three-wheel ATV. The performer had been driving on the sidewalk when police tried to pull him over, and he took off driving down the wrong side of the road. Three days later, while performing in Seattle he whipped his microphone at an audience member, hitting him in the head. (Huffington Post)
Days after the incident, the Target worker got terminated from his position.
A Target spokesperson confirms Forrest Liebenberg has been fired from the store … but explains, “His departure was unrelated to the video footage that has appeared online.” The rep adds, “Out of respect for the privacy of this individual, we cannot discuss the reasons for his departure.” After the incident, Forrest told CBS13 he’d been terminated from his job with no explanation — saying, “They weren’t very clear, but it is obvious to me that it was based on this incident.” He added, “Maybe I was a little uninformed about how seriously the situation was with Target, but obviously it is pretty serious.” Forrest says he doesn’t know if Target believes he’s the person who leaked the security footage to TMZ. He also claims he is NOT the leaker. (TMZ)
The footage heated up blogs across the Internet in late November.
What did the 5 fingers say to the face? Ask the guy who got PIMP SLAPPED by Katt Williams. Katt wasn’t done after leading cops on a crazy three-wheeled chase through Sacramento on Sunday — because moments later, he hit up a Target … where he belted an employee IN THE FACE … and TMZ has footage of the face-to-hand contact. There’s no audio, so we can’t tell what the argument is about — but by the looks of the employee’s body language before the wallop (placing his hand on his chest) the guy wasn’t looking for a fight.
