Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West‘s “VH1 Storytellers” special airing tomorrow evening (February 28) will feature the emcee revealing his thoughts on today’s hottest topics going on in the media.
Ye will use the program to discuss his feelings on various entertainers.
West was aggrieved that Radiohead singer Thom Yorke had allegedly snubbed him backstage at the Grammys five days earlier. That hurt, West told the audience, because he idolizes the British band, and considers it one of his few creative rivals. “So when he performed at the Grammys, I sat the f*ck down,” West said. “Can’t we give Chris a break? … I know I make mistakes in life…Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing … He’s a real f*ckin’ person; he makes mistakes,” referring to the champion swimmer’s recent bong pipe brouhaha. (Reuters)
Despite being given a platform to speak freely, VH1 has decided to edit some of Ye’s comments.

The rap star will also perform a selection of his most popular hit records.
The 90-minute episode will feature West performing songs from his critically acclaimed album 808’s & Heartbreak in addition to past hits. Following in the “Storytellers” format, West will answer questions from the audience and give viewers a unique opportunity to hear the inspiration behind such hits as “Flashing Lights,” “Stronger,” “Good Life,” “Touch The Sky” and from his new album 808’s & Heartbreak, “See You In My Nightmares,” “Robocop,” “Amazing,” “Say You Will” and “Heartless.” (Hip Hop Press)
The program will focus on taped material from mid-February.

VH1’s “Storytellers” has been featured on the network for over a decade showcasing a number of artists including Kid Rock.
This acclaimed series began with a broadcast of Ray Davies talking about his songs and performing them solo, as part of his own “Storyteller” concert tour in 1996. Many of popular music’s greatest artists and songwriters have taped episodes, mostly in intimate settings, some taking audience questions and telling first-hand stories about their writing and personal experiences. As of November 2008, 79 episodes have aired, many in conjunction with its sister series, “Behind The Music”. (TV)
