According to reports, Mr. West performed a slew of his hit records from last summer’s Yeezus.

West appeared 10 minutes after his listed start time and played a mix of hits and cuts from his 2013 album “Yeezus,” which offered the most visually arresting moments of the night. He wrapped his set with the powerful “Blood on the Leaves” after about 90 minutes, 20 minutes before his scheduled finish. The show, played under a full moon, included elements from West’s recent arena tour, including one of the masks he wore. But he ditched the snow-capped mountain and white Jesus in favor of a 30-foot-tall LED screen. (Huffington Post)

The rap superstar also used the main stage to deliver a public service announcement.

And he returned to a favorite speech about how he no longer needs hit songs or radio airplay because he’s not competing with other living artists. He’s looking to install himself as a timeless cultural icon. “I ain’t going after nobody on the radio,” West said. “I’m going after Shakespeare. I’m going after Walt Disney. I’m going after Howard Hughes. I’m going after Genghis Khan. I’m going after Henry Ford …” (Huffington Post)

Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West also popped up at the Manchester, Tennessee festival.

While West, who spent much of his performance showing off his silhouette in front of a large LED screen, serenaded the crowd – and told the audience to chase their dreams while comparing himself to John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison – his new wife was putting on her own show … in front of the camera. Earlier this year, reports revealed Mr. West would grace the festival’s stages along with G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa and elusive soulful singer Lauryn Hill.

Some of the must-see artists in attendance are headliners Kanye West, Jack White, and Elton John, Ice Cube, Lauryn Hill, Chance the Rapper, Pusha T, A$AP Ferg, Danny Brown, Janelle Monae, Lionel Richie, Frank Ocean, Wiz Khalifa, Skrillex, Disclosure, James Blake and many, many more. The camper-happy Tennessee festival runs from June 12-15 and tickets officially go on sale Feb. 22 at noon EST. (VIBE)
