Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has opened up about his past internal struggles and how pain has helped him become the man he is today.
Writing on Twitter, West said this past year has been his most difficult.
“People ar so scared of pain hurt and embarrassment that no one takes risk anymore … I’ve made so many mistakes that made me better today,” Kanye wrote Thursday (August 5).
“I’ve been hurt and embarrassed but I still believe in good will. Give of yourself with no fear and one day he’ll have you in the clear.”
“He returns the blessings you give 10 fold. I feel God’s light shining through my darkest year of my life and career. I feel the glow again.”
“I will be a better man, friend, role model, citizen, blogger, tweeter, artist, creator, giver, thinker, motivator and person. IFEELTHEGLOW.” (Kanye West’s Twitter)
Last year, West was scolded by rappers and entertainers for disrupting country singer Tayor Swift‘s awards acceptance speech at the Video Music Awards 2009.
“Taylor Swift is great and is new at that point and you can’t replace it. Even an apology can’t replace what it feels like for the very first time receiving that award,” rapper 50 Cent said about her being disrupted. “Now in her head, ‘My first award was Kanye West.’ And it’s damaging, I wish he would come take one of my awards so I can black his eye and in front of everybody…” (Much Music)
Originally posted on Ye’s blog, the rapper later apologized and shared his admiration he has towards Swift’s talent.

As of late, West has begun making a comeback into the spotlight with nationwide performances at the headquarters of Rolling Stone, Facebook and Twitter.
Kanye West’s tour of Silicon Valley continued.
