Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West's love for current girlfriend Kim Kardashian reportedly dates back to 2009 as heard on Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down" smash.
Although Yeezy has yet to confirm, reports claim he made a distnct reference to Kim K on the track.
Kanye West publicly declared his undying love for Kim Kardashian all the way back in 2009 — when she was still dating Reggie Bush — but everyone was too dumb to realize it at the time. Sources extremely close to Yeezy tell us, the rapper penned several lyrics confessing his love for Kim in the 2009 hit “Knock You Down,” indirectly referencing Kim and her then NFL star boyfriend. The main reference — “You was always the cheerleader of my dreams / To seem to only date the head of football teams / And I was the class clown that always kept you laughing / We were never meant to be, baby we just happened.” Then later in the song, Kanye says, “You should leave your boyfriend now.” We’re told the song is just one example of Kanye’s secret references to Kim in his music — and it’s proof he’s been obsessed with her for years. He also makes reference to Karadashian on his new “Clique” track.
TMZ obtained a copy of West’s new single, “Clique,” from his upcoming album “Cruel Summer,” and picked up a fleeting reference to the 2007 hit XXX movie “Kim Kardashian: Superstar” (also starring Kim’s ex, Ray J). Kanye sings, “Eat breakfast at Gucci. My girl a superstar all from a home movie.” This isn’t the first time Kanye has written a tune about KK. His songs “Way Too Cold” and “Perfect B*tch” also pay homage to the callipygian reality star. (Extra TV)
Earlier this summer, Kim revealed she has known West for nearly ten years.
“We met maybe almost a decade ago, I’ve known him for a really long time, we’ve been friends for like six or seven years, so it’s very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you that respects you, understands, has gone through similar things,” Kim said. “I can really relate to his mother passing, he can really relate to my father passing. I mean, there’s so many similarities in our life that I feel like I’m at a really happy, good space.” (MTV)
A few months back, the reality star gushed over having an older boyfriend.
“Even the people I surround myself with, a lot of my friends, the people that I love to just sit and talk to and spend my time with, are wiser, a little bit older than me, where all my boyfriends were younger. I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different, and now I just love that I’m with someone that’s a couple years older than me,” Kim said referring to Yeezy. “I love that my friends are even sometimes 20, 30 years older than me, that I can just sit and enjoy their company and their experiences.” (Oprah’s Next Chapter)
