Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is apparently "back" on Twitter after deleting all of his past tweets since joining two years and has paid homage to late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

Yeezy hopped on Twitter Friday (October 5) night to reflect on the one-year anniversary of Jobs’ passing.

“WE LOST STEVE A YEAR AGO TODAY…,” he tweeted.

“HE IS ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING AND INFLUENTIAL HUMAN BEINGS OF OUR EXISTENCE ALONG WITH MICHAEL JACKSON, WALT DISNEY, AND DR. KING.”

“LET’S BE THANKFUL FOR HIS LIFE AND RESPECT HIS LEGACY BY NEVER COMPROMISING ON OUR FUTURE.” (Kanye West’s Twitter)

Yesterday, Apple made a tribute to Jobs on its website.

On most days, Apple.com is like any other corporate home page — a billboard, a news hub for corporate goings-on and a launching pad for an online store where people can buy stuff. Every once in a while, though, it turns into something unlike any other big company’s home page. Friday was one such day, when Apple’s home page featured a video tribute to Steven P. Jobs, the company’s co-founder and former chief executive who died a year ago to the day. The 105-second video consisted of still black-and-white images of Mr. Jobs with audio of him announcing Apple products like the iPhone and describing Apple’s corporate philosophy. The music on the soundtrack is Bach’s Prelude No. 1 in G Major for Cello, played by Yo-Yo Ma, who was a friend of Mr. Jobs. (New York Times)

Last fall, rap star Lil Wayne paid homage to the late Apple icon.

“I don’t know a person that hasn’t been influenced in some sort of way by this man,” Wayne said in his public service announcement. “We lost that man, and I think we lost him too soon, honestly a lot too soon ’cause I’m quite sure there’s a bunch of people who don’t know who I’m talking about. And that’s when you’ve lost someone too soon, when there’s people that don’t know the greatness of someone — I wonder if motherfu**ers really remember me for the innovator I am.” (Derick G)

A couple days ago, Yeezy made headlines after deleting all of his tweets.

Kanye West, who has used Twitter for voicing his opinions through epic rants in the past, has deleted all of his tweets. However, he did leave one tweet that says, “Be back soon.” It’s also interesting to note that he is only following his girlfriend Kim Kardashian. Whether this move is part of his campaign to silence himself from the media or just something else entirely, his eight million-plus followers will just have to wait until he returns. (Complex)
