Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has decided to offer up his luxurious Los Angeles home for nearly $4 million.
According to reports, the rapper’s soon-to-be former home features multiple high-tech features.
Kanye West is packing his Louis Vuitton trunks and moving out. The rapper has put his 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Hollywood Hills home on the market for $3,995,000. The minimalistic, 4,214-square-foot residence features breathtaking views of Los Angeles, an aquarium in the bathtub, theater, closet akin to a designer boutique, and built-in computers to control the property. Kanye has decorated his West Coast crib with artwork from Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, and even a life-sized Buzz Lightyear. He still owns a place inNew York City, but has been spending most of his time in Hawaii lately recording his fifth studio album. (Rap-Up)
The home was reportedly built nearly a decade ago.
The 4,214 sq. foot modern was built in 2002 by a renowned Italian architect, and in true Kanye West fashion the home’s features are entirely controlled by built in computers and surveillance cameras throughout. How’s that for an MTV crib? Alexander Davis at Hilton & Hyland has the listing. (Huffington Post)
Yeezy was known for placing an artistic touch throughout the home.
The 4,200 square foot, three story home was designed by Desiderata Design out of LA. It’s look is very stark and minimalist and has an almost gallery like feel with its open floorplan, white walls, walnut floors and impressive art collection. In the Interior Design article, Desiderada design principal Don Stewart says Kanye wanted his house to look like “a cross between a museum and a Louis Vuitton boutique.” Kanye’s works of art include antique architectural remnants, sculptures, modernist paintings by Takashi Murakami and pop art such as Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup prints as well as one of a kind works by pop artist Burton Morris. According to DJ Premier, Ye is currently putting together a new album.
“I’m working with Kanye. He reached out to me like, ‘Yo, you at the studio?,'” Premier said in a recent interview. “He came by at 8 p.m. and didn’t leave until three in the morning. We were drinking Grey Goose and just bugging out. It was me, Kanye and Showbiz, from Showbiz & AG talking about the whole industry…He told me how he wanted this album to be really boom-bap, hard, hard beats. He said, ‘No electro Preem, I swear no electro [Laughs].’ Ye is still that crazy dude he’s always been. He’s really focused on making this album raw. So I gave him a banger and he said he wanted two more on top of that one. I’m giving him two more this week.” (VIBE)
