Nearly a week after giving birth, couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian‘s newborn daughter’s name has finally been revealed.
According to reports, Kim and Kanye decided to name their first child together North West.
Five days after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby girl, said daughter’s name has been revealed by TMZ. The celeb website, citing a signed birth certificate from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. they said they saw, reports that the couple named their daughter… North. Which, combined with daddy’s last name, makes her… North West. (Fox News)
Some recent reports suggested they went with the name Kaidence.
Kaidance or Kai? Or any other name that begins with a K? Several “K” names were tossed around this week as potential choices for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s new daughter. But according to reports — it’s none of the above. (CBS News)
Coincidentally, Kim K denied rumors of them planning to name their baby “North” back in March.
“I don’t know where that came from,” Kim told E!, adding, “I actually think it’s cute. I mean, I think our name will definitely be unique. But we haven’t really picked a name yet.” That denial mirrored comments she made to “Extra” about the unusual moniker. As for whether Kimye are expecting a boy or a girl, Kardashian said she plans to keep that a secret too. “We haven’t told anyone [the baby’s gender] — just our family — but there’s rumors out there,” the E! star said. “I’ve seen it was on a [magazine] cover, like, one day it’ll say [it’s] a boy, then another one will say a girl; we just laugh.” (MTV)
Initial rumors and gossip suggested the baby’s name would, in fact, be North.
Mixed emotions greet reports that Kanye West is considering calling his first child North. It’s a good joke, from a slightly unexpected source (neither the rapper nor his possibly even more famous partner, Kim Kardashian, are best known for their self-deprecating sallies, although the title Kanye is supposed to be contemplating for his new album, I Am God, is said to be “half tongue-in-cheek”). And North, who is due in July, would certainly be following in an established tradition. Mr and Mrs Peace, Mr and Mrs Christmas, Mr and Mrs Gallery, for example, sat down, had a good think and decided to call their respective offspring Warren, Merry, and Art, while Mr and Mrs Beach realised too late that a popular diminutive of Alexander is Sandy.
