Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West recently discussed the importance of providing for his family and hinted at receiving some shady treatment courtesy of a partnership with mega sneaker retailer Nike.
Although he did not get into specifics, Mr. West suggested he did not receive fair treatment from releasing his limited edition Air Yeezy sneakers through Nike.
“Man, just not making decisions for myself and making sure I made decisions for my family,” said Kanye. “Like if it’s for myself, I would have been cool just sitting in Nike not getting no royalties. Letting people line up for the Yeezys and not–you know. When I’m having negotiations and then I go and look in my daughter’s eyes and when I go and negotiate after that I’m like ‘Oh y’all ain’t finna talk to me like that. Even with all the Jordans dropping this year, it’s hard to think of another sneaker more anticipated than the all red Nike Air Yeezy 2. There’s been images of the kicks floating around for months now but things went extra Hypebeast when he rocked them on SNL. As the third rumored colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 has finally been officially unveiled courtesy of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, new information and additional photos have hit the internet. Since last year, the rumors behind this Nike sneaker consisted of a third all red colorway and whether glowing soles would be included was still a question. As we draw ever closer to what looks to be the coming of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 third colorway, things start to heat up with another preview. After Kanye himself wore them doing his memorable SNL performance, hype surrounding the shoe has hit its early peak, all the while sneakerheads being unsure if the shoe will actually drop.
