Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West continues to shine new light into the fashion game, weeks after donning headgear decked in crystals by now rocking an all-red everything mask in public.
While fans are still debating whether he wore it as a fashion statement or to keep warm, Yeezy’s latest head garment is making headlines.
Kanye West tried to stay low key upon arriving at Maison Martin Margiela’s Paris Fashion Week show on Wednesday. The stylish rapper appeared in a bright red ski mask, with a white suit, long black trench coat, and the always classic Visvim mocassin sneakers. ‘Ye has always shown recent support to the Margiela brand, attending the Belgian designer’s NYC launch party for the brand’s H&M collaboration last year. Just last month, he rocked a variety of different eye-catching masks during a concert series.
‘Ye probably has some more explaining to do after his performance this weekend in Atlantic City. Yeezy took the stage at the Revel casino (where Beyonce held her first post-baby show) and managed to upstage his Scottish inspired look with a wintery outfit that hid his face entirely. In an ensemble that made him look a bit like the abominable snowman, Kanye First showed off a white feathery hood that completely masked his face, save for some eye slits. Then Kanye showed the crowd a second hood, which was a full face mask made out of crystals — think the greenman from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia but fancy. (Gawker)

The “Cold” artist gave concertgoers a chilling performance dressed in all-white, including outrageous headpieces like this crystal-encrusted Maison Martin Margiela mask. Kanye West didn’t say anything outrageous at Wednesday night’s star-studded 12-12-12 concert at Madison Square Garden. But his outfit was, well, interesting. West rocked – get this – a Pyrex hoodie (drug reference, maybe?) a black leather kilt (whatever, that was a skirt) and he layered – yes layered – it over skinny black leather jeggings. (The new term out there is meggings man+jeggings, smh.) I’m thinking his sneaks are some form white on white Air-Jeezys. It’s so Alexander Wang meets Rick Owens meets Betsey Johnson. Hip hop has come a long way. Brothers are wearing skirts! To be fair to Kanye, the fashion-obsessed rapper has been trying out differnt versions of the jeggings style at various concerts for about a year now. Some leather. Some glitter. All different.
