Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West raised the fashion bar last night (December 28) after performing with a kilt at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert by rocking various facial garments during his New Jersey show.
Yeezy stormed Atlantic City’s Revel casino venue stage with an assortment of must-see gear.
‘Ye probably has some more explaining to do after his performance this weekend in Atlantic City. Yeezy took the stage at the Revel casino (where Beyonce held her first post-baby show) and managed to upstage his Scottish inspired look with a wintery outfit that hid his face entirely. In an ensemble that made him look a bit like the abominable snowman, Kanye First showed off a white feathery hood that completely masked his face, save for some eye slits. Then Kanye showed the crowd a second hood, which was a full face mask made out of crystals — think the greenman from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia but fancy. (Gawker)
Information on the designer behind Ye’s facial attire has already started sprouting online.
Kanye West, our favorite ladies blouse and leather skirt-wearing rapper, took to the stage at Revel in Atlantic City last night wearing his weirdest stage costumes yet. The “Cold” artist gave concertgoers a chilling performance dressed in all-white, including outrageous headpieces like this crystal-encrusted Maison Martin Margiela mask. Always one to take it to the NEXT level, Mr. West changed outfits during the show and returned wearing a feathered mask that was quite fitting for his winter wonderland set. Top that, Lady Gaga! (Huffington Post)
Mr. West also lived up to the relief effort concert standard by donning yet another memorable kilt.
But what may be most memorable about the performance was the outrageous attire. Kanye kept it all-white throughout the set, wearing a leather kilt and some fashion-forward headgear that included a diamond-encrusted Maison Martin Margiela face mask that walked straight off a haute couture runway. The trio of Atlantic City shows marks Kanye’s second return to Revel this year, his only solo U.S. appearances since he headlined the Coachella festival in April 2011. (Billboard)
Earlier this month, Kanye got publicly ridiculed by one-time collaborators Cam’ron and Chris Brown over his 12-12-12 kilt.
Two of Kanye West’s former confidants are slamming his wardrobe choice at last week’s 12/12/12 Benefit Concert in New York. There were at least two people who didn’t find it all that funny: R&B singer Chris Brown and Harlem rapper, Cam’ron. “That sh*t suspect. Can’t get with that swag. N*ggas gone be wearing heels next,” Chris Brown added on Instagram. (RumorFix)
