Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is making fans switch up their initial plans to attend Yeezy Season 5. The hip-hop fashion heavyweight has changed the time of his highly-anticipated New York City showcase due to a little controversy.

According to reports, West has bumped his showcase up a couple hours in an effort not to conflict with The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc (CFDA)’s scheduling.

Yeezy fans are all looking forward to New York Fashion Week where Mr. West will present Season 5 as well as a rumored second line — along with an impending release for his highly anticipated Pablo followup, Turbografx16. However, Kanye’s show has been rescheduled… to two hours earlier. After making nice with the CFDA, West’s show time has been moved to an earlier slot. The Yeezy Season 5 show has been rescheduled to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15 instead of 5 p.m., which would have directly conflicted with Marchesa. (HYPEBEAST)

CFDA president and chief executive officer Steven Kolb confirmed the initial Yeezy Season 5 conflict.

“Kanye called me personally to let me know that he had no intention of showing on top of another designer, and was unaware that there was a conflict. He explained that once he realized Marchesa was in the time slot, he immediately looked at alternative options. The CFDA appreciates Kanye’s outreach and effort, and we look forward to working with him far in advance to integrate Yeezy into the schedule in seasons to come.”

Buzz developed earlier in the week about Ye bringing back his Yeezy collection for a mid-February showcase.

After a much buzzed-about (in ways both good and bad) Season 4 show on Roosevelt Island, Kanye West’s Yeezy collection is returning to New York Fashion Week this February for its Season 5 iteration. According to a press blast, Yeezy will show on Wednesday, February 15, at 5:00 p.m., a slot between Anna Sui and Thom Browne, currently also occupied by Marchesa. (Vogue)

Reports also suggested Mr. West could lean toward a heavy 90’s influence for this year’s collection.

As for the collection, West and Kim Kardashian West have been teasing Calabasas-branded merchandise on social media for nearly a year, leading fans to believe a release of the city merch is imminent. If the Wests’ new Instagram style is anything to go by, the suburban ’90s vibe will also be strong.
