According to Mr. West, he never suggested people should boycott the company but acknowledged pointing out LV is not as prevalent today as in past times.

Kanye West did not call for a Louis Vuitton boycott. In a radio interview with Sway on Tuesday, November 26, the rap mogul denied that he told fans to stop buying products from the luxury brand. He said, “It’s a misconception that I said boycott Louis Vuitton.” Kanye, however, additionally suggested that the label was no longer relevant. “You can’t boycott Louis Vuitton. I wouldn’t tell nobody to boycott a brand that ain’t nobody even thinking about no more. Nobody thinking about buying no Louis Vuitton. That brand old. Nobody thinking about that brand. I wouldn’t say boycott that brand. I’m talking about some relevancy,” he continued. (Ace Showbiz)

Photos of Mr. West and fiancée Kim Kardashian with Louis Vuitton luggage surfaced online this week.

He recently called on his fans to boycott Louis Vuitton after being snubbed by the firm’s vice-president Yves Carcelle. However, someone clearly didn’t get the memo as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s staff were spotted loading the couple’s luggage into a car in New York on Tuesday and a LV tote bag and suitcase were among the belongings. It is unclear if the luggage belongs to Kanye or his fiancé but after the rapper’s outburst against the brand, it is surprising the two items weren’t immediately banished. (Daily Mail)

A few days ago, reports of Mr. West calling out Louis Vuitton and asking for a temporary boycott hit the ‘net.

Kanye West just ordered all of New York City to stop buying Louis Vuitton … STAT! Kanye was on 92.3 NOW radio station moments ago when he handed down the edict, saying, “Everybody in New York City right now, don’t buy any Louis Vuitton until after January.” Kanye says he’s trying to make a point to the head of Louis Vuitton, Yves Carcelle, who refused to meet with the rapper the last time he was in Paris. Kanye’s point … Yeezy’s got power and influence … and he’s using it to teach Frenchie a lesson. FYI, Kanye’s been on an anti-fashion crusade recently, claiming the world’s top designers have essentially blackballed him from the industry because he’s a black rapper. The crosses Yeezus has to bear. (TMZ)

The reports followed Kanye breaking big news of going into partnership with mega sneaker retailer Adidas.

“I gotta get my money up to another level because it ain’t on Jay Z level,” Kanye said in an interview. “It ain’t on Diddy level yet. … The old me, without a daughter, might have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nike so much, blah blah blah. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family. Whatever’s official, non-official, what y’all are gonna see is I am going to be the Tupac of product. It ain’t no Tupac of rap except for Tupac. … My designs are based on what I grew up on in hip-hop. My references be like, ‘Girl shaped like Kim.’ Not these skinny, trying to look like a boy-type models that they try to put on the runway in fashion. My reference is Nas and Mobb Deep. … I’m gonna be the first hip-hop designer and because of that, I’m going to be bigger than Wal-Mart.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
