Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has stepped forward to address his leaked self-shot nude photos hitting the Internet last week.
Admitting that the photos were authentic, West spoke with radio host Funkmaster Flex about finding out they had leaked.
“I went to the Internet because I’m looking at my Twitter and go to mentions to see what people are talking about and they had like, the link, and I went to it,” West recalls. “You can not imagine how disappointed I was how I got cut off? [laughs] I’m like, d*mn. I was like, ‘Ahhh!’ I’m not talking to anybody [in this room], I’m talking to the radio right now. Was there any ladies commenting? My e-mail did go kinda crazy though. I was getting all types of random e-mails out the blue. A lot of e-mails, a lot of inboxes. This is terrible. [laughs].” (Hot 97)
The photos began to circulate online late last week.
The website MediaTakeOut.com posted the image Friday, after weeks of rumors that claimed naked shots of West were making the rounds. In the picture, which the site claims they received Friday morning, West is shown sitting on what appears to be a couch or chair, shirtless and wearing sunglasses and a chain necklace. The bottom half of the uncensored photo, posted as a separate image, reveals West wearing black boxer-briefs with his member exposed. (New York Daily News)
Speculation on the nude leaked photos developed last month.
Kanye West has been embarrassingly caught with his pants down in a nude photo scandal, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The self-snapped pictures of the music icon, showing his private parts, were reportedly sent to a number of women, and are now for sale and being shopped to various media outlets. RadarOnline.com has seen the two images – both of which leave little to the imagination. One image shows a nude Kanye from the chest up, wearing sunglasses and a gold chain, while the second photo shows the singer’s genitals provocatively exposed from his boxer briefs. “These pics have been floating around since he hit so many girls up on MySpace,” according to the source of the images. “He probably sent them to many, many women.” (Radar Online)
Last year, West said he was contemplating posing disrobed for a photo shoot at some point in his life.
“I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans,” he told writer Sean Fennessey when asked if he was comfortable with fame. “I want the freedom of having less fans. It’s like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility. It’s like Bjork. If she wanted to pose naked, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s Bjork.’ But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.” (MTV)
