Kanye West has been chosen to perform at this week’s Youth Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC.
The Grammy-winning rapper will join the likes of Kid Rock, Fall Out Boy and more.
Stars will perform at the Youth Inaugural Ball on Tuesday, which will air on MTV as part of “Be The Change: Live at the Inaugural.” Rosario Dawson and Usher will serve as MTV correspondents to the event, and the show will include footage from service activities around the country on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including Usher working with 200 young people to clean up Simon Elementary School in Washington, D.C. Its’ focus will be on illustrating the impact of young voters.
“This year, millions of young people got involved and worked to bring change to this country,” said Presidential Inaugural Committee Executive Director Emmett S. Beliveau. “We wanted to make sure this Inauguration recognized the important role young Americans are playing in making our nation stronger.” (NBC Chicago)
More inauguration events will take place throughout the week.
Other artists at the capitol for the ceremony include Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Jay-Z, who will perform at the Neighbor Inaugural Ball where Barack Obama and wife Michelle will share their first dance as the President and First Lady. (NBC Bay Area)
The Youth Inaugural Ball will air live on MTV at 10 p.m. EST Tuesday, January 20.
