Based on reports, West promised the joint album would reach completion in days.

After his star-studded concert with Coldplay at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Jay-Z headed to the grand opening of Marquee nightclub where he held court with Kanye West. Yeezy and his big bro popped bottles of Ace of Spades champagne before announcing some exciting news. “Watch the Throne coming in one week,” said ‘Ye about his collaborative project with Jay. Bottles of the pricey bubbly were passed out before Kanye toasted the douchebags with an impromptu version of “Runaway,” while a jubilant Jay spit his verse from “Monster.” If that wasn’t enough, Rihanna joined the party by singing part of “What’s My Name?” (Rap-Up)

Last November, Jay revealed Ye took a few of their tracks for his own solo album.

In the Q&A session Hov revealed that “Monster,” “So Appalled,” “Power (Remix)” and “The Joy” were all supposed to be on the album, but the first two ended up on Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy instead. “We went away to Bathe, England, last week,” Jay said, referring to him and Yeezy. “I was out there doing some promo and we did about seven records in three days. We gonna finish another three records, [then] probably look at it to see if we should take any records off and record new ones, just to make it better. But it’s coming out amazing.” (XXL Mag)

In October, Jay said he and West were headed to Europe to work on new tracks for the LP.

“We had done five [songs] so far, and then a few of ’em, kind of, were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry Jay,” he said, laughing. “But we got some more, and we going to the south of France at the end of this month just to record new ideas.” (MTV)

A few weeks ago, rap pioneer DJ Premier broke the news to SOHH about working on Watch The Throne.

“H*ll yeah, I’m excited to be a part of anything and I love working with Jay,” Premier told SOHH about getting aboard Watch the Throne. “I wish I was on Blueprint III, but I got on board really too late and he couldn’t make it in time but I just saw Jay the other day and we kicked it.” (SOHH)
