Kanye West Accused Of Confronting Fashion Icon Over Kim K Snub

Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is making headlines this week for reportedly getting into a heated argument with Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour recently over Kim Kardashian missing out on a cover.

Details of a rumored showdown have started to scatter across the Internet today (January 29).

During a recent power lunch at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge, the hip hop star demanded answers from Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour to the question: Why did she judge Girls star Lena Dunham as being cover worthy for the famed fashion bible, while his fiance, Kim Kardashian, has long been overlooked? Kanye, 36, insisted to the British-born fashion icon that Kim is “just as talented as Lena, if not more so,” one source revealed to Radar. (RadarOnline)

The main issue reportedly centered on Kim losing out on a cover shot to inferior female entertainers.

“Kanye thinks that Kim has a much bigger fan base and appeal than Lena,” said the insider. “To Kanye, it’s insulting that his friend Anna is still refusing to even consider putting Kim on the cover of Vogue. He thinks Anna is listening to a bunch of ‘know-nothing’ corporate haters, as he put it. He’s upset that Anna isn’t willing to do him this personal favor and put Kim on the cover. Kanye knows that it’s always been a huge dream of Kim’s to be on the Vogue cover and Kanye wants to make it comes true. If nothing else, Kanye is persistent.” (RadarOnline)

Back in October, Kanye said Kim K had more appeal to Vogue readers than First Lady Michelle Obama.

It’s not exactly a surprise that Kanye West is Kim Kardashian’s biggest fan. The 36-year-old musician sang his fiancée’s praises during an On Air With Ryan Seacrest radio interview on Tuesday, Oct. 29. In fact, he’s lobbying to get the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star her first Vogue cover. “There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday,” he said, noting that reality stars have often been overlooked by mainstream fashion magazines. “And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.” (E! News)

Mr. West asked for Kim K’s hand in marriage on her birthday last October.

Sweet Yeezus! Kanye West swooped into San Francisco Monday night and proposed to Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday, E! News reported early Tuesday morning. The rapper, 36, popped the question to the mother of his child at AT&T Park, which was rented out for Kardashian’s big day, the site reported. Having received future mother-in-law Kris Jenner‘s blessing, West proposed to Kardashian with a 15-carat diamond ring made by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. (New York Daily News)
