Representatives for Juelz Santana, including his brother and publicist, have stepped forward to address the Diplomat’s unexpected arrest on gun and drug charges last night (February 2).
Speaking via statements, Santana’s camp felt confident despite the rapper’s legal woes.
“We are hopeful that my Brother will be released tonight,” Jermaine “Twin” James said in a statement. “He is just being processed through the system right now. I posted his bail earlier today. All computers are currently down at the Prosecutor’s Office.” (When MTV News contacted the Bergen County Jail around 7 p.m., an officer confirmed that the MC had just arrived at the facility.) At press time, Juelz was being held on $125,000 bail. “Santana was out of town at the time of [Skull Gang member] Raynor‘s arrest. We are just looking forward to having this whole situation cleared up,” Santana’s publicist, Lynn Hobson, said. (MTV)
Santana was reportedly arrested Wednesday (February 2) evening in New Jersey.
Authorities today dropped additional charges on rapper/producer Juelz Santana in connection with two fully-loaded 9mm handguns, several boxes of ammunition, and 17 dime bags of pot they said they found while arresting freestyle rapper Toby M. “Hynief” Raynor last month. (Cliffview Pilot)

Santana, 28, of Teaneck, whose real name is Laron James, was charged on Wednesday with possession of a firearm and a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a handgun without having a permit, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone. Santana is also believed to be a member of the Bloods street gang, Bergen County prosecutor John L. Molinelli said. Santana was being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack on Wednesday on $125,000 bail. (North Jersey)
Santana’s Skull Gang rap member Hynief was reportedly arrested on multiple drug and weapon-related charges during a bust last month.
A borough man is facing marijuana distribution charges after authorities said they found 17 plastic bags of suspected drugs in his possession in a Washington Avenue recording studio, authorities said Friday. Toby M. Raynor, 24, was arrested at the studio on Thursday, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said. Raynor allegedly sold marijuana to undercover detectives from the gang division of the Prosecutor’s Office on two occasions in June and July, Molinelli said. On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at the recording studio, known as Santana, on Washington Avenue. Along with suspected marijuana, authorities found two fully loaded 9mm handguns and several boxes of ammunition, Molinelli said. (North Jersey News)
