Dipset's Juelz Santana recently spoke about Cam'ron name-dropping Kanye West on his "Runaway" freestyle and revealed Killa's underlying issues with his former Roc-A-Fella labelmate.
While opting against divulging specifics, Juelz said Yeezy should reach out to Cam to resolve matters.
“At the end of the day, Cam’s a grown man, Cam said what he had to say,” Juelz told DJ Vlad in an interview. “Cam said he didn’t diss Jay-Z, he said he definitely took a shot at Kanye. But what he was saying was that he didn’t diss Jay-Z ’cause Jay-Z’s name ‘was’ mentioned […] listen to wording in which he said he was trying to say he didn’t diss Jay-Z. Now even on the radio he hasn’t gotten into the issues that he has with Kanye, I’m not gonna give you the issue because maybe it’s something Cam wants to tell y’all himself, but you know, it’s not that serious at the end of the day…Cam’s always gonna be Cam. If he’s got something on his shoulders and wants to get it off, he’s gonna say it. But it’s definitely not something super serious where there’s gonna be a lot of time or energy wasted on the situation like that…Kanye, don’t even take it like that. Maybe just holla at Cam. Do that. Last month, Cam addressed the record and denied pulling Jay-Z into his diss.
“I ain’t have nothing to say,” Cam told radio host Angie Martinez. “Only thing I’m gonna say is a lot of people talking about I dissed Jay. I didn’t diss Jay on the song. I didn’t diss Jay on that song at all. I didn’t say nothing about Jay. I haven’t diss Jay in years. I don’t have a relationship with Jay-Z or nothing but I’m from Harlem. I respect people getting money. Jay gets mad cake. I respect his hustle, his grind, so a lot of people saying I dissed Jay, I didn’t diss Jay…I ain’t got no problem with Kanye, man. Dipset’s Jim Jones added by saying Diplomats are not trying to spark a beef toward Yeezy.
“Shout-outs to Kanye man,” Jones added. “Don’t nobody take it wrong. We here, we just having fun. It’s hip-hop. Cam is probaby one of the best rappers that’s been in this game for the past 10 years. We’re having fun…He didn’t diss him on the record, [Cam] just pointed something out.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
A week prior, radio host Funkmaster Flex asked for Santana’s reaction to the record.
“To be honest, I really just heard the record like a fan, you know what I’m saying, like everybody else,” Santana told radio personality Funkmaster Flex Thursday (September 16) night. “I ain’t really know they did the record. Me, Cam and Jim have been speaking but they must have did that when they got together, just in the studio, you know what I mean, doing what they do. So I heard the record just like y’all. I was like, ‘Wow,’ it shouldn’t really surprise people especially as far as Cam. Cam always said things as far as how he felt about Jay-Z and Kanye. He’s never been the type of person that bites his tongue. Nah, I haven’t seen any of them in the past couple days. I actually spoke to Kanye about a month and a half ago. He was good, he was talking about getting me down to Hawaii to work on his album…” (Hot 97)
