Dipset's Juelz Santana recently talked about not living up to fans' hopes of having a long-awaited Diplomatic Immunity 3 compilation album available and fully took blame for delaying its release.

According to Santana, his inability to fully dedicate himself to grinding out music a few years ago led to the project never coming together.

So while the group still seems fractured, Elz says that things are moving in the right direction and fans shouldn’t close the door on the group’s long-awaited Diplomatic Immunity 3 album. “I wasn’t doing music for me, so I couldn’t sit down and agree to do a Diplomat album. I didn’t know what the intentions [were] — nothing, I was still in chill mode at that time,” he said. “Now I know it can get done is what I’m saying because I’m working, I know Cam is willing to do it — he’s probably working. Jim I know he’s always working doing what he’s doing.” (MTV)

Juelz echoed similar comments about the Diplomats delay earlier this month.

“Shout-out to Jim, shout-out to Cam. I’m not going to even lie, at the time, when we put out the ‘Salute’ record, it was still at the time where I wasn’t doing a lot of music, just, period. I wasn’t back in the zone that I needed to be in, musically. Honestly. It’s not even about that project. I had the same way like I took a break from everything. … I wasn’t really in my mojo to just sit down and just complete a Dipset project. We up with my man Flex, this is a new year. In order to get it right, we’ve got to make it all the way right. You dig what I’m saying? That’s why I’m saying it is possible, because I know Cam is willing to do, I’m sure Jim is willing to do it. I’ve always been willing to do it, it’s just about me getting my music mojo back.” (“Funkmaster Flex”)

Back in 2010, Dipset’s Freekey Zekey took credit in helping reunite group members Cam’ron and Jim Jones after a public falling out.

“I done grabbed up Killa, snatched up Juelz, called Jim, we all sat down and I said enough of the bullsh*t, what’s happening,” Zekey recalled to radio personality Mr. Peter Parker. “We got big money, big business, big opportunities right now and I’m not stopping until everybody sit down right here and put everything out on the table — I [was] sitting there and letting them know it was way bigger than this, what are [they] arguing over, nobody took a dirty Subway sandwich and smacked somebody’s mom’s with it…I can never give up on my family. It’s 2010, time to get it in. Dipset wins again…” (Mr. Peter Parker)

Prior to everyone coming back together, Cam’ron said he had no interest in doing a reunion album.

“Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody,” Cam said in an interview. “I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it…And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album. I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.” (NowWutTV)
