Dipset’s Juelz Santana has broken his silence on the brief fight which took place during his New York City birthday bash last month and said the incident was over-hyped by the media.
In addition to the fight, Santana also addressed the two guests who are accused of raking up nearly $30,000 in unpaid bills with a fake credit card.
“Actually that happened when I first walked into the party man,” Santana told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom referencing the fight. “We had an awesome night after that, that was just a little scuffle, you know. I got there probably about one o’clock. It’s like that happened, soon as I walked in I seen that happen and you know, everybody just went back to partying. It looked a little messy but it wasn’t a big, big situation like the way they put it out on [the Internet.] — The bouncers got it under control, Maino and them wound up doing their thing but at the end of the day, they fell back and I guess the dude they got into the altercation with, he left the club so everything pretty much went back to normal after that…Credit cards are big right now, so you know I mean, I don’t have nothing to do with it. I don’t own a credit card, period. So nobody can ever say something to me when it comes to something like that, I don’t even have my own credit card and I’m an artist with a reason and right ‘to’ have a credit card, you dig what I’m saying? Me and my peoples pre-ordered 65 bottles before we even got in the club, we paid cash….” (“Jenny Boom Boom”)
Footage of the fight landed online in late February.
Rapper Juelz Santana’s 27th birthday party turned into a battle royale Monday night when a club goer hopped the divider into the VIP area — and got the living crap beat out of him while the rapper watched. It’s unclear exactly what started the brawl — but the guy wearing the Rev Run hat definitely did something to piss off the mob waiting in the VIP section at M2 Ultralounge in New York. After a failed attempt to defuse the situation, several men began wailing on the Rev Run-alike until he was on the ground. Somehow, the man emerged from the chaos and was able to leave the club. Rapper Maino can be seen in the melee, but is never actually seen throwing a punch. (TMZ)
The two guests accused of using a bogus credit card at the event made headlines a few weeks ago.
Robsson Depeine and Jeff Sylvain were trying to impress thecelebrity crowd Monday night–which included Lil Kim and Snoop Dogg, there for rapper Juelz Santana’s birthday–ordering bottles of expensive bubbly–even sending one over to the birthday boy. After ordering 40 bottles of Moet Nectar Rose, and a 9 liter bottle of Veuve Clicquot, the duo asked for a $5,500 twelve liter bottle. Manager Dan Devlin said “That’s when one of our managers became suspicious. The purchase was ridiculous and Sylvain introduced a second card with his ID and I knew that’s when there was a problem.” Originally an AMEX gift card that Sylvain had doctored was holding the tab open. Despite the speculation, attorney Joseph Coluccio denied his clients’ involvement in the situation.
“My Clients were invited to a birthday party. There were several people putting down credit cards and ordering pricey bottles of champagne. There was chaos at the end of the night and the bartender realized that there had been fraudulent transactions. The club couldn’t find the real person who gave them the creditcard, so my clients were wrongfully identified. It’s a joke.” (New York Post)
