Slaughterhouse's Joell Ortiz is the latest group member to speak out in support of Shady Records head Eminem's new Marshall Mathers LP 2 album and why his crew is most focused on letting their boss receive as much shine as possible.

Aside from describing the LP as fantastic, Ortiz promised Em’s latest solo effort would stick around for the long haul.

The album, the successor to Em’s 2000 Marshall Mathers LP, has all of Shady’s artists on deck supporting the cause. “Em’s album isn’t gonna come and go, it’s gonna be around for a while. We’re here to support everybody and anybody who is on the label when they drop, and now it’s Em’s turn. We’re recording and stuff, but the whole focus is on Eminem,” he said, before talking about the first time he heard the original MMLP. “I just remember being like, “This White boy’s nice!'” Ortiz said, laughing. “I’m just being real, I was in the hood like, the hype is true, this guy is incredible. You could see it, too, what the response was around the nation–I mean, around the world–so I’m not the only one who felt that way.” (XXL Mag)

Last month, group member Joe Budden said Slaughterhouse would fall back while Em promotes his upcoming Marshall Mathers LP 2 album.

“We’re not [releasing] nothing while Em is coming out,” Joe Budden told MTV News of the completed Slaughterhouse album. “Let him go ahead and sell his 20 million records and then when he’s finished, we’ll roll out,” he added laughing. “I’m really looking forward to the Slaughterhouse project, partly because this album will be very much like earlier Joe Budden albums,” he explained. “Very deep, very introspective and very personal. All of the guys really went in, took it to a different place and just dug much deeper this album, so I really can’t wait for the release of this one to see how fans take to it.” (RapFix)

Recently, Slaughterhouse crew member Crooked I said not too many artists can keep surprising fans like Slim Shady.

“It was crazy,” Crooked I said in an interview. “It’s just always refreshing to hear a super mainstream artist with bars and skills because a lot of these mainstream dudes that’s rapping out there is wack as f*ck. So, here’s somebody who has all the success and has achieved so much in the game and he still has bars to bar you out the game. It’s real refreshing. He basically took the art of double-time rapping and displayed the many different ways you can do that. There’s different cadences you can use when you’re double-timing. He just displayed almost all of them on one song.” (HHDX)

Based on an excerpt from his new Rolling Stone feature, Slim Shady details how determined he is with Marshall Mathers LP 2.

“Right now, I’m probably working harder than I’ve ever worked in my life,” says a sleep-deprived Eminem, gulping diet Red Bull in his suburban Detroit studio. He’s well past deadline (“They keep telling me a different day,” he says) on his new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 – out November 5th – and the final mixes still aren’t quite done. “Aside from around the time of The Eminem Show, when I was also doing the 8 Mile movie and soundtrack and score and sh*t like that. This is probably the equivalent of that, but all focused on the record.” (Rolling Stone)
