Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden and former G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Consequence came close to taking a few swings at one another after an unexpected encounter Tuesday (February 5) morning at New York’s Hot 97 radio station.
According to reports, Joey interrupted Cons’ interview and called him out over recent dicey comments made about him.
To no one’s surprise, it looks like Joe Budden hasn’t taken kindly to comments Consequence made about him in recent interviews with The Breakfast Club and Vlad TV. But it was Cons who was caught off-guard when guesting on Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg show, when his Love & Hip-Hop New York co-star interrupted the interview and confronted him directly. Budden called out Cons for talking slick about him behind his back, while Consequence fumbled his way out of a potential altercation (thankfully things didn’t get physical, though) and blamed his interviewers and Raqi Thunda for instigating. Needless to say, it was a pretty awkward situation. We feel for you, Ciph! (Miss Info TV)
Cons has since hopped onto his Twitter page to discredit the confrontation footage.
“So Joe didn’t Walk out & come back once he got the Heart 2 Holla? I just explained things so the company I was with off cam didn’t blitz,” Cons tweeted February 5th.
“Where’s that footage??? And where’s the footage of Joe talking Jen??? #Reaching”
“I PROMISE that Edit is BOGUS… But it’s COOL. Believe what you want.”
“NO MORE TALKING #StraightLikeThat” (Consequence’s Twitter)
A few days ago, Cons revealed what sparked issues between him and Joey.
“I don’t have time to talk about nobody,” Cons said when asked about his relationship with Budden. “[The radio hosts] asked him about me doing a record and he scoffed – so he got what he got for that. Other than that, we’re on the same [‘Love & Hip Hop’] show so in my business mind, I would have never said anything about him. … Diss records don’t make any money. Trust me. I did enough of them, they don’t make no bread.” (Vlad TV)
Both hip-hop artists made their debuts on the New York-based “Love & Hip Hop” reality television series last month.
In a sneak peek, we see Joey and Tahiry trying to mend their friendship given their new, non-romantic status. “I never saw an ending between Joey and I…but he wasn’t handling his business,” says Tahiry. “I’m notoriously living my life, especially my love life, in the public eye…I miss our friendship,” says Joey. Another couple in turmoil is rapper Consequence and his baby mama Jen “The Pen” Bayer. After having a son recently, the duo are now arguing how about to raise him, specifically as it relates to Cons’ Muslim faith. Newcomers Winter Ramos and Rashidah Ali are former assistants in the music industry trying to make it on their own. (RapFix)
