Byrd Gang leader Jim Jones recently spoke on the alleged assault on Ne-Yo while with Jay-Z associate.
The Harlem, New York-bred rapper denied he had any violent interaction with the R&B singer last month.
“Ain’t nothin’ happen, like shout-outs to Ne-Yo,” Jones said in an interview. “Nothing went on with Ne-Yo. I couldn’t do that man. That would be a little bit wrong to put my hands on Ne-Yo. He’s a talented young man. The ladies like him.” (Big Boy’s Neighborhood)
Rumors began late December claiming Jones was involved in a violent scuffle with various Def Jam artists.
“There’s been word of a ‘beef’ that went too far between Ne-Yo, Jim Jones and Jay-Z’s right hand man Ty-Ty‘s brother Vaughn. According to various gossip sources, Go-Go and Jimmy got into a tussle at the LouisVuitton store on 5th Ave in NYC.
“While the details are sketchy, my people tell me that a lot of the stories being posted are ‘grossly exaggerated.’ Apparently Ne-Yo and Ty-Ty’s brother were shopping in the store when J. Jones approached the guys and started going off on Vaughn, who just so happens to bare a striking resemblance to his brother Ty-Ty.” (Gyant Scoop)
The incident resulted in Jones meeting with New York authorities.
“While details of the incident remain unclear, the information provided by Jones was enough to warrant a charge and a summons for a desk appearance,” attorney Scott Leemon told All Hip Hop. “He is scheduled to appear in court on February 4. Jones was released without bail immediately after making his statement.” (All Hip Hop)
