Dipset’s Jim Jones has taken action after getting busted earlier this year on a suspended license charge by opting out of public transportation and hiring his own personal driver.
According to Jimmy, he even has his chauffeur take care of family needs.
You’d think Jim Jones would suck it up and buy a Metro Card after losing his license earlier this year — but no … the rapper plunked down for a chauffeur. Jones pled guilty to driving on a suspended license after his arrest in March — but Jones tells TMZ, it’s no big deal … because now his driver takes him everywhere he needs to go … guy even drives Jim’s kid to school. The “Love & Hip Hop” star says the cost of hiring the driver is worth it because he doesn’t want to end up in jail for another driving violation — and he feels he’s too famous in NYC to take public transportation. Earlier this month, Jones made local news for pleading guilty to the suspended license charge.
Rapper Jim Jones has pleaded guilty to making a mistake on the road: driving his Bentley in New York with a suspended license. He pleaded guilty Thursday to a traffic misdemeanor and was sentenced to a $200 fine. Defense lawyer Marianne Bertuna says Jones hadn’t realized his license had been suspended over a traffic ticket he hadn’t fully paid. She says he wanted to resolve the case to get on with his career and a charity project. He was arrested in March in Manhattan. (Washington Post)
In 2009, Jones was arrested while cruising around northern New Jersey.
Jones was driving his 2007 black Bentley when a Teaneck police officer noticed he was missing a front license plate, said police Capt. Keith Richter. After police stopped Jones around 12:10 a.m., they found the rapper had an outstanding warrant out of Paterson and arrested him. Richter confirmed Jones, who provided a Newark home address, paid $120 and was released. Paterson Police Lt. Donald Giaquinto said the warrant was for unpaid motor vehicle tickets. (North Jersey)
While the arrest took place, Jimmy even got onto his Twitter account.
“I decide to drive by myself let’s see how this plays out,” he wrote unmodified prior to the arrest. “Misses officer let me go the funny part was watching them have to count all the money in my pocket lol I must say they were verycool…And it was a punk ass warrant from 2005 for 120 dollars…Make sure you pay old tickets.” (Jim Jones’ Twitter)
