According to Jones, each member is taking key moments from their experience and trying to incorporate it into the flick.

“The movie’s gonna be good,” Jones promised in an interview. “The process is everybody writing down the most memorable moments inside of Diplomat history both the good and the bad. And how we manage to be in the midst of a transition in a period of time where young black kids like us was synonymous for hustling and making money — and we got a chance to go into music at a very young age and treat that like we was hustling so it was a little bit crazy to be honest. It’s hard to have one foot in and one foot out and learn that. This is a bigger business than the streets…It’s like an action-flick man. It’s so many things we go through — it’s just a lot. We blessed to still be here and dodging a lot of things.” (“Invasion Radio”)

Last month, Dipset member Juelz Santana hinted at what fans could expect.

“It’s gon’ be [about] the break up and us gettin’ back together leadin’ into the album,” Juelz explained in an interview. “The album is gonna be like the soundtrack to the movie. It’s just gonna be everything from [Cam’ron] meeting Biggie to him meeting me and us becoming The Diplomats…It’s gonna be a movie like the way they did Notorious — But we’re just gonna be playin’ ourselves. That might be the first [movie] where we get to play ourselves instead of [being portrayed by actors]. We’ll [play the younger versions of ourself as well], but […] we’ll cut the hair off our face so we look younger and sh*t like that.” (XXL Mag)

Earlier the same week, Jim Jones unveiled the Dipset movie plans.

“We actually working on the Diplomat movie — I don’t think I was supposed to say that,” Jones said in an interview. “Our success and road to success has been filled with a lot of ups and downs. It’s kind of like an action flick if you Google us and read all the news clippings and everything that’s been going on while we been on TV. It should be a good movie.” (XXL Mag)

In 2009, Cam’ron hinted at plans to put together a film based on former New York drug dealer Guy Fischer.

Cam announced plans to release several film projects, including a follow-up to his highly popular 2006 film Killa Season, which he penned and directed. He expanded on those projects saying, “We got a movie coming out called The Bakery and then we’ll drop the second installment of Killa Season.” Cam is also considering the release of a bio-pic on convicted racketeer Guy Fischer, former member of The Council, an infamous organized crime syndicate which controlled the heroin traffic in Harlem in the 70’s and early 80’s.
