At the end of the day Jones says individual contractual obligations have offset the LP.

“Everybody’s been working,” Jones said in an interview. “We took a brief hiatus; we came back together. When we came back together, there were still things that we had to figure out. And everybody’s on the same page, but above all we all still have contractual obligations, so it kinda makes it a little difficult to get what we want to do done because we want to put total efforts and total concentration on the new things…We been recording slowly but surely — Me and Cam been going back and forth. Juelz [Santana] been trying finish his obligation up with Def Jam — he got a lot of pressure on his back.” (MTV)

A few months ago, Jones spoke on the long delayed album’s slow progress.

“Currently in motion, we been working . . . it hasn’t been going as fast as we’d like it to go because everybody got so much business that they’re doing aside from where we left it,” Jones said about the current state of the Diplomats album, before taking to the basketball court of a Downtown Manhattan, NY middle school with his “Jones Family” squad as part of MTV2 and Converse’s Band of Ballers event. “But we definitely been locking in. Shout outs to Cam, shout outs to Juelz, shout outs to Freekey Zekey. Everybody’s on board.” (XXL Mag)

Last year, Jones announced his reunion with Killa after an internal problem tore them apart for 36 months.

“I heard about the announcement,” Jones said referring to his reunion. “I heard there’s two gentlemen that put aside their differences and things like that. That’s kinda good for the rap culture. I’m glad two young gentlemen as theyself get money and could put their differences aside and say they’re gonna do another album for the people. Big up to them…I’m waiting to hear the next press release or the next cover or maybe song, I’m waiting like everybody. [laughs] These guys are good, Dipset.” (VIBE TV)

Prior to the reunion, Jones issued an apology to Cam.

“It’s 2010, and this is something I gotta get off my chest…You’ve known us from back when we didn’t have what we have now, so you remember, that above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we’re building on getting back on track but first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately. I apologize for not leading by example because what I didn’t realize at the time, I was venting but it wasn’t all about me. There were other people whose dreams were also part of this movement…We had this luxurious life, but the rest of the family, they had slow down because of the ball I started rolling. I’d be pissed at me too…But God works in mysterious ways…a couple people tookvacations, and there’s a lane that’s wide open. What we built solo since Dipset grew apart, we can combine and make even stronger together. I needed to clear my conscious before we work on building a bigger and better movement. Plus, consider it fair warning to everyone else.” (Miss Info TV)
