Maybach Music Group's Wale recently talked about the inspiration behind his new Festivus mixtape and why he pushed the release out against Jay Z and Rick Ross' advice.
According to the Washington, DC native, the music executives said he should not drop a project for free-99.
“I feel a little uncomfortable when I don’t give people [new songs]. Jay and Ross, they was like, ‘don’t drop no free project.’ I’m just like, ‘I can’t even sleep at night. I have to.’ I’m sleeping better now. I’m sleeping ’til 9 o’clock in the morning.” (HNHH)
