Jaz-O has upped the ante from verbal jabs at Jay-Z to enrolling the rapper’s alleged former friend Gunna to help discredit Jay’s past street history.
Gunna attacks Jay-Z’s street cred in ten minutes of video [see below].
“Bubble lip Shawn,” he says in the video. “He went from Buble lip Shawn to Jigga to Jay-Z, d*mn you on Jaz d*ck…He was a worker, he wasn’t the dude…All the stuff you hearing on records, it’s not true…For all y’all that don’t know, homie wasn’t that big time, drug dealer, gangsta motherf*cker that he talk about on them records. Dude was getting smacked up, robbed out in the hood, he was getting robbed. One time, I was locked up, some comrades stripped him up. I got the news and told homie he had to give him his sh*t back…We the truth, just ask the streets.” (Hip Hop Beef)
Jaz recently addressed his “bad guy” image citing Jay’s negative references in songs as reason enough for him to battle.
“I pride myself in being real humble but I ain’t takin’ no sh*t from nobody,” Jaz said in an interview. “No matter who it is, where it is. I ain’t takin’ no sh*t from nobody so I had to do what I had to do and I’mma continue doing it. N*ggas wanna talk, they can talk. I’mma walk…If you wanna squash something, we know so many of the same people, my number ain’t no secret…He got an album coming out so I guess he tryin’ to stir up some sh*t.” (Sub Zero DVD)
Jaz originally caught feelings upon hearing his name referenced by Jay in Ludacris‘ “I Do It For Hip-Hop” song.
“I lost a lot of dogs to these streets/I got Grammy awards on these beats/Thank God for Kool Herc/Without this sh*t I probably woulda got murked/Shout outs to Grandmaster Flash and the cash/And even Jaz bum a**/Hip hop helped me wash my rocks/These other rappers couldn’t wash my socks/That’s why I took the number one slot.” (Google Video)
Jaz, known for mentoring Jay in his earlier rap years, recently struck out against Jigga on the diss track “Go Harder.”
“Them streets ain’t with cha, half moon head n*gga/Just regurgitated what I spoon fed, n*gga/You then compare yourself to Jackie Robinson, you jack and rob and sin on your own family and friends…Let’s put things in its’ proper place/That ‘S’ on your chest, son give it a rest…You branched out, cut throats/Made new alliances, just so you can stand out/You talk tough but your gun ain’t speak/Real G’s held you down, you were stupid and weak.” (You Tube)
