According to reports, RiRi is going to remain on Roc Nation for the long haul.

DIVA IN MOTION: Rihanna has signed a new long-term contract with Roc Nation as part of its recent deal with UMG, HITS industry insider I.B. Bad reports in his latest dispatch from the frontlines, posting here tomorrow. Her future releases will probably continue to go through IDJ, continuing a productive long-term relationship with the Steve Bartels-led label, even as Roc Nation builds its own brand. On that subject, does Jay Brown (who manages Rihanna and Shakira) have the bandwidth to become a top major-label exec? And where does ex-Mercury U.K. label head Jason Iley fit into Jay Z’s scheme? Back in April, buzz behind Jay inking a mega deal with Universial Music Group which would reportedly involve future Rihanna releases surfaced.

Vivendi SA’s VIV.FR +0.75% Universal Music Group said Monday it had inked a multiyear deal with rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter to house his music label Roc Nation, snagging the coveted rights to release Mr. Carter’s next album along with the forthcoming records of other top-selling artists including Rihanna. Mr. Carter said the deal allowed his five-year-old Roc Nation to “continue to operate as an independent label with the strength, power and reach of the best major.” Universal didn’t disclose the financial terms of the deal. The news came just a few months after Jay managed to persuade hitmaker Timbaland to join the Roc.

“”And I Won’t Surrender It With Beats By TIMBALAND” 01.30.2013 Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family.,” a Life + Times post reads along with a photo of both music stars lounging together in a recording studio. (Life + Times)

Back in 2010, RiRi joined forces with Jay’s management team.

The singer announced Wednesday (October 20) that she will now be managed by mentor and former Def Jam exec Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company. The chart-ruling singer spilled the beans to The Associated Press, saying in a statement she’s “so excited to take this next step in my career.” The “Only Girl in the World” singer joins songstress Melanie Fiona, spitter Wale and DJ/producer Mark Ronson as other faces handled by the management arm of Hov’s multi-pronged firm.
