While details are slim, a new photo of Hov and Rae together is heating up the Internet.

Jay-Z and Raekwon on the same track? It’s pretty much a dream come true for 90s rap heads. Both are wizards with the drug rap and crimes tales but from two completely different sides of the hustlers spectrum. However, they definitely share some common ground and have helped keep the integrity in New York rap. Thanks to Lenny S., we know a collabo is on the way. Was the RZA there?? Please. (Miss Info TV)

The Wu member confirmed something is cooking up by tweeting out the photo on Twitter.

“Long time coming!!! Hov x chef … Much luv to my dude Lenny S aka kodaklens for making it happen!!!… http://instagram.com/p/ZUKp2XL3vf/,” Rae tweeted late night May 14th. (Raekwon’s Twitter)

Back in 2009, Rae talked about his admiration for Young Hov as a fellow New York rap veteran.

“I know them from meeting them guys out once or twice and Nas I know a little bit more because we came in the game around the same time,” Raekwon said in an interview. “Jay I met before. Jay is a cool dude when he wants to be. Everybody has a certain amount of respect for one another when they see ’em at the moment but I never really hung out with dudes like that to really know them like that. But it was ways that they said, ‘Yeah, you know, you’re ill.’ Whether they looked at me a certain kind of way or they just walked up and said ‘What up?’ that’s how Jay came at me one day. Like ‘Yo, this is back in the day, I respect you.’ And I was like, ‘Yo, thank-you man, much respect back.’ So you know at the end of the day, we all in competition and all competitors, but it’s a certain amount of respect still that New York rappers are gonna give to each other in this time. Just last week, Jigga and The-Dream‘s new “High Art” collabo premiered online.

Terius Nash, AKA The-Dream, and Jay-Z have become one of music’s most dynamic songwriting duos as of late. Earlier this year, they both earned a Grammy for “No Church in the Wild”, and they’re working together on Jay-Z’s new solo album. But first, The-Dream will release his own new solo album, IV Play, on May 28th, and he’s recruited Jay to guest on the track “High Art.” (Consequence of Art)
