According to reports, the popular sports bar was shut down a day after its reopening.

Hip-hop superstar Jay-Z reopened his New York City nightspot, the 40/40 Club, this week after a renovation, only to have its kitchen promptly shut down for health code violations. The city’s health department said it closed the club’s restaurant on Jan. 19 after inspectors found a number of problems. The violations included failing to keep refrigerated food cold enough, not keeping hot foot hot enough, and letting workers prepare food with their bare hands. (CBS News)

Details on what violations Young Hov’s spot made have also emerged online.

Five pounds of cooked mashed potatoes, meanwhile, were left out at a temperature of 89 degrees, while 10 pounds of cooked rice and 50 turkey burgers were kept at 67 degrees. All the hot foods should be at least 140 degrees, the sources said. The club’s restaurant was immediately closed, and new patrons were barred from entering. Those already inside were allowed to remain. “If you have a walk-in place with food like this, you put a hell of a lot of people at risk,” said the source. “A night of dinner and dancing should not include the risk of contracting food-borne illness.” The nightspot corrected the problem and was cleared for business last night. Despite the potential seriousness, a 40/40 Club rep justified the violations and said they are once again open for business.

Ron Berkowitz, a rep for the club, tells TMZ the motor in one of the refrigerators blew just moments before the health inspector arrived … causing the temperature in the fridge to rise. Berkowtiz says the staff identified the problem immediately and had no intention of serving the food from that fridge. Berkowitz says the fridge was fixed by noon the next day and the club was permitted to re-open. He adds … the club lost no business as a result of the issue and their health code grade is currently pending review. (TMZ)

The nightclub officially re-opened last Wednesday (January 18) in Manhattan.

From changing diapers to glamorous club openings, all in a days work for new dad Jay-Z. The rapper made his first post-Blue Ivy appearance at the grand re-opening of his 40/40 club in New York City last night. Beyonce didn’t make it out (so we’re going to have to wait to see her undoubtedly amazing post-baby body!) and presumably stayed home with baby Blue. (Splash News Online)
