Roc Nation's Rita Ora recently discussed her upcoming solo album and how much of a positive impact her boss Jay Z has had on the process.
According to Ora, Jigga Man is putting his all into making sure her new LP meets perfection.
“Now we’re at a place where I’ve grown up a little bit; it’s been two years since my last album. When I met him I was 17, and I am 23 now, so he’s watched me grow and now it’s about me having my own opinion and making my own decisions, which he understands. It’s more of a brother-sister relationship really. He really cares about me and it’s nice to see a boss who also really wants you to succeed and he’s really doing everything in his power to make this perfect.” (Paper Mag)
Reports claim Rita has a few collaborations already locked in including one with music icon Prince.
The singer will unveil her second studio collection later this year, following the release of her new single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ on May 11. Rita Ora has collaborated with Prince, Macklemore and her boyfriend Calvin Harris for her new record, which is the follow-up to her 2012 debut ORA. (Digital Spy)
Last month, Rita confirmed her upcoming solo album had reached completion.
The ‘R.I.P.’ singer is set to reveal her new single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ very soon, and says her second album sees her being more honest than she ever has before. “Amazing, the album’s really, actually done, finally,” Rita told Capital’s showbiz reporter Kevin Hughes. “It’s been like a year-and-a-half. Literally just came back from Canada now, the movie’s gone great. Everything’s really making sense. I’m really happy.” (Capital FM)
Aside from the new LP, Rita worked up a scare after being hospitalized last fall
British pop singer Rita Ora — who had the hit song, “R.I.P.” — collapsed on the set of her photo shoot in Miami Beach today … and was rushed to a hospital by ambulance according to photographers on the scene. Photos show the 22-year old singer/model/actress — eyes closed — being unloaded from the ambulance on a stretcher … attended by emergency personnel. So far, no word on what may have caused her to collapse. Ora — who famously dated Rob Kardashian last year — was reportedly preparing for her photo shoot on the beach near the SoHo Beach House hotel when she fainted in her makeup trailer. (TMZ)
