Music mogul Jay Z has partnered up with music icon Prince to stream a live concert called Rally 4 Peace amid the controversial Freddie Gray situation in Baltimore, Maryland.

According to reports, Jay’s Tidal service will stream the event this weekend.

Jay Z’s music streaming service Tidal will provide free live audio of Prince’s Rally 4 Peace event at Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena this Sunday. Along with their 60-minute stream of Prince’s show, Tidal have also promised to “match funds” of all donations made through their official site to support Baltimore youth charities. Jigga released a statement on the situation and also paid homage to the Gray family.

“I am honored to join Prince in his mission to inspire through the uniting power of music and be able to offer a platform where this moment can be shared globally. We invite all to experience the music and contribute in their own way to promote peace, tolerance and understanding,” Jay Z said in a statement. “Our prayers go out to Freddie Gray’s family and every family affected by brutality and senseless violence.” (Statement)

This week, New York rapper Ja Rule gave his take on the Baltimore situation.

“I think it’s a very sad situation what’s going on in Baltimore. It’s not just Baltimore. I think it’s going on throughout the country. And with what’s going on in our urban communities with the police, I think it just needs to—Somebody needs to be the peacemaker. To bring it all together. To make things better on that front. And I don’t know who’s the guy to do it. I don’t know who’s gonna step up and be our leader…But as long as we keep marching peacefully, I think that’s the best way for us to get our point across.” (“Fox Business”)

Last week, charges were handed out to the six officers that arrested Gray.

State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby declared that Freddie Gray’s death was a homicide, his arrest was illegal, and his treatment in custody amounted to murder and manslaughter. Onlookers began to cheer and then express amazement over Mosby’s announcement, which few expected so quickly. “The findings of our comprehensive, thorough and independent investigation coupled with the medical examiner’s determination that Mr. Gray’s death was a homicide,” Mosby said, “we have probable cause to file criminal charges.” (ABC News)

  1. This coon can’t get out of his own way.The stans that follow this clown are clueless.

  2. Even if Tidal captures a small percentage of the market Jay still wins. No business can grow that quick even with Jays star power. Hence why do you think they were selling the company so cheaply before he bought them. Give them atleast 5 years.

  3. We only here from you when money is involved. You just trying to make a profit, you’re not an advocate of the oppressed.

  4. some dudes do nothing and some cant do enough,,smh,,they only call him hov,,he aint god dun,,its a wrap when we more worried about what a rapper is doing than say the president..

  5. Tidal will never recover, once it mislaunched that’s when it was dead in the water.
