According to reports and video footage, JD brought out Jigga and other unexpected guests for the star-studded concert.

Stars came out heavy on Saturday night (Feb. 24) to Atlanta’s Fox Theater for the So So Def 20th anniversary concert. Mariah Carey, Usher, Jay-Z, Da Brat, Ludacris, Monica, and several others were in attendance to celebrate with the man who started it all, Mr. Jermaine Dupri. At some point during the night, JD joined Jay-Z onstage and they performed couple of songs including “N***as In Paris.” (The Honesty Hour)

During the concert, tensions temporarily rose when Hov told the deejay he does not like to rhyme over his own vocals.

Hov made a good point to JD after cutting short his “N****s In Paris” performance when his lead vocals dropped in: “I don’t f*ck with the vocals my G. Let me do my own sh*t. Y’all ain’t have to come out here for that. You could’ve just played the sh*t and put a picture of me up there.” Note to all DJs. If Jigga is making a guest appearance at a concert, and you’re working the turntables, make sure you have the instrumental versions of the songs he is going to be performing. He doesn’t like to spit over his own vocals. And rightfully so. (Complex)

A few days ago, JD talked about tagging Jigga for their “Money Ain’t A Thang” anthem.

“When I made that song nobody knew who Jay-Z was in the South, by the way. People knew who he was up here, (in New York), but when I made that record, people at Columbia Records were like, ‘We should put out the Mariah record first. You’re a successful producer, let’s put out the big star song.’ I said ‘Nah, I’m putting out this rap record. This is what I want to put out.’ It was a big record.” (GG)

Buzz about the reunion concert heated up the Internet around mid-January.

Atlanta-based So So Def Records will celebrate 20 years of making music by holding a concert at the Fox Theater. Mayor Kasim Reed joined the label and hip hop artists on Tuesday to announce a 20th anniversary concert on Feb. 23. So So Def stars Jermaine Dupri, Xscape, Kris Kross and Da Brat will perform at the reunion celebration. (My Fox Atlanta)
