Rap mogul Jay Z is receiving some heat this week courtesy of a New York Post writer who slammed him over a dicey performance alongside wife Beyoncé Knowles-Carter at last Sunday's Grammy Awards.
Instead of sugarcoating her words, writer Naomi Schaefer Riley took direct aim at Jigga.
What do you call a man who stands there smiling and singing as his scantily clad wife straddles a chair and shakes her rear end for other men’s titillation? I’m certain if I look through enough Jay Z song titles, I’ll come up with the right name for his role in Beyoncé’s performance at the Grammy Awards Sunday night. Rhymes with Goodyear. . . ? Well, how about I just call him a poor excuse for a husband. For years, these award ceremonies have pushed the envelope; Beyoncé’s booty-shaking was certainly no worse than Miley Cyrus‘s twerking or any number of other performances by Madonna, for instance. Beyoncé and Jay Z put the rumors to rest and opened the 56th Annual Grammy Awards at L.A.’s Staples Center on Sunday. Seated in a chair, a wet Bey performed “Drunk in Love” before being joined by her husband Jay Z, who helped her recreate a scene out of the sexy music video. The superstar couple showed off their chemistry and Bey echoed her “Surfboard” catchphrase, while Taylor Swift sang along from her seat. (Rap-Up)

After some speculation last week, Beyonce has been confirmed to be taking the GRAMMY Awards stage on Sunday night (Jan. 26), alongside hubby Jay Z. The appearance was confirmed in a commercial that aired on CBS on Sunday (Jan. 19), listing the married couple among the performers of the upcoming ceremony. Taylor Swift, Lorde, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar are among the many other performers taking the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next weekend. There was initially no word on whether the music duo would perform any duets.
Reps for the awards show have yet to announce whether the “Drunk in Love” pair will perform together onstage or what they’ll perform, but the two music stars will joins the likes of Taylor Swift , Lorde, Katy Perry, Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar and many other artists who will hit the stage at the Grammys Jan. 26. Beyoncé’s performance will mark her first televised performance since the release of her platinum-selling, self-titled fifth album last month. (E! Online)
